YG Entertainment announced its next girl group at the end of 2022 and introduced the seven trainees through performance videos. Their selection process appeared in the 2023 series Last Evaluation. Although five members were initially planned, all seven candidates were confirmed for the final lineup in May. The pre-debut song DREAM followed on May 14.

Ahyeon did not take part in the group's first two releases. Ruka, Pharita, Asa, Rami, Rora and Chiquita released BATTER UP on November 27, 2023, followed by Stuck In The Middle on February 1, 2024.

Ahyeon returned for the full seven-member debut EP BABYMONS7ER on April 1. BABYMONSTER held the SEE YOU THERE fan-meeting tour, released FOREVER in July and issued its first studio album, DRIP, on November 1.

The HELLO MONSTERS world tour opened in Seoul on January 25 and later visited Japan, other parts of Asia and North America. YG announced in May that Rami would temporarily pause activities. The six active members released HOT SAUCE in July and the EP WE GO UP on October 10.

The third EP, CHOOM, arrived on May 4, followed by the digital single SUGAR HONEY ICE TEA on June 8. The 2026–27 CHOOM world tour began in Seoul on June 26 and expanded the group's touring to five continents.
