BigHit Music introduced the five members in January 2019. TXT debuted on March 4 with The Dream Chapter: STAR, followed by their first studio album, The Dream Chapter: MAGIC, on October 21.

The Japanese single MAGIC HOUR opened 2020. The group continued its Dream Chapter series with The Dream Chapter: ETERNITY in May, then released DRAMA in Japan and minisode1: Blue Hour in October.

TXT released their first Japanese studio album, STILL DREAMING, in January. The Chaos Chapter: FREEZE followed in May and was repackaged as The Chaos Chapter: FIGHT OR ESCAPE in August. The Japanese EP Chaotic Wonderland closed the year.

minisode 2: Thursday's Child was released in May. The group began its first world tour, ACT: LOVE SICK, in Seoul on July 2 and performed at Lollapalooza in Chicago on July 30.

The Name Chapter: TEMPTATION was released on January 27 and became TXT's first No. 1 album on the Billboard 200. The group began ACT: SWEET MIRAGE in March and headlined Lollapalooza in August. The Name Chapter: FREEFALL followed in October.

TXT released minisode 3: TOMORROW on April 1 and began the ACT: PROMISE world tour in May. The Star Chapter: SANCTUARY arrived on November 4.

The Star Chapter: TOGETHER was released on July 21, 2025. BigHit Music announced on August 22 that all five members had renewed their contracts. The Japanese album Starkissed followed in October.

TXT released 7TH YEAR: A Moment of Stillness in the Thorns on April 13, 2026. Their fifth Japanese single, セツナハナビ (Setsuna Hanabi), followed on August 19.
